The newly crowned Miss Alabama is a woman of great girth
Sara Milliken was chosen as the state’s representative in the National American Miss pageant.
The pageant aims to foster a “positive self-image by enhancing the natural beauty within.” And the new Miss Alabama has a heaping helping of body positivity.
“No matter what your body looks like, no matter where you come from, you can do anything you set your mind to,” Milliken
And the corn-fed queen has lots of supporters who have embraced her super-sized reign
“To know is to love her,” one supporter told the television station. “This young lady has a heart of gold and will give anyone in need a helping hand. A beautiful obese diva with style, sass and a lot of class.”
Others were just relieved that Alabama would not be represented by a beauty queen who has a gym membership and eats salads.
“Great to finally not see some 100 pound blonde hair blue eyes who wants world peace win,” said another television station viewer. “Congrats to Alabama and this Queen!”
The buxom beauty has also generated lots of negative comments — leading the television station to accuse detractors of cyberbullying.
“She promotes inclusivity and representation of all bodies,” Libs of Tik Tok wrote on X. “We need to stop glorifying obesity. Obesity isn’t healthy.”
Another observer wrote, “To mention anything about her weight would be fat-phobic so I will not be addressing the elephant in the room.”
